Application and Performance of 5182 Aluminum Sheet


Aluminum sheet refers to the aluminum material with a thickness of more than 0.2mm to less than 500mm, a width of more than 200mm, and a length of less than 16m. Aluminum plate refers to a rectangular plate processed by rolling aluminum ingots, which is divided into pure aluminum plate, alloy aluminum plate, thin aluminum plate, medium-thick aluminum plate, and patterned aluminum plate.


1. Understand the 5182 aluminum sheet


The 5182 aluminum sheet is Al-Mg series anti-rust aluminum. The performance of the 5182 aluminum sheet is similar to that of 5A02, but because the magnesium content is slightly higher than that of 5A02, and a small amount of silicon is added, the weldability is better than that of 5A02. The welding performance of welding, spot welding and seam welding is very good, and there is no big difference between the other performances.


2. 5182 aluminum sheet has a wide range of applications


5182 aluminum sheet belongs to Al-Mg series anti-rust aluminum, its application range is wider, its performance is relatively stable, and it has super high cost performance. It has been applied in batches in many industries, such as automotive interior parts, pull ring materials, can tube cover materials , refrigeration devices, electrical enclosures, cabinets, etc. Therefore, 5182 aluminum sheet is widely used, especially the construction industry is inseparable from this alloy, and it is the most promising alloy. Good corrosion resistance, excellent weldability, good cold workability, and medium strength. The main alloying element of 5052 is magnesium, which has good formability, corrosion resistance, weldability, and medium strength. It is used in the manufacture of aircraft fuel tanks, oil pipes, and sheet metal parts for transportation vehicles and ships, instruments, street lamp brackets and rivets, Hardware products, electrical casings, etc.


3. 5182 aluminum sheet has excellent performance


The welding performance of 5182 aluminum sheet is excellent: there is no abnormality on the welding surface, and the tensile test and bending test are all qualified; the weld penetration is clear, and there is no slag inclusion and air hole after alkali cleaning. Solder bending test: The welding part is bent normally.


The mechanical tensile effect of the 5182 aluminum sheet is good: the tensile strength of the sample fluctuates slightly, and the yield strength is 10-20Mpa lower than that of the unwelded sample.


The machining performance of 5182 aluminum sheet is excellent: Machining test: Deep processing and continuous stamping are normal, no orange peel and no cracks in bending.


The welding performance of 5182 aluminum sheet is very good with gas welding, argon arc welding, spot welding and seam welding with good machinability. The surface is beautiful after anodizing. This alloy has high strength, especially anti-fatigue strength: high plasticity and corrosion resistance, can not be strengthened by heat treatment, good plasticity when semi-cold work hardening, low plasticity when cold work hardening, good corrosion resistance, good weldability, poor cutting performance, can be polished. It is mainly used for low-load parts that require high plasticity and good weldability, and work in liquid or gaseous media.
